Clinicians report that people who engage with prehabilitation support are more informed, more confident and better able to engage with treatment plans. Improved preparedness can support smoother progression through treatment pathways by reducing fear, uncertainty and disengagement at critical stages.
Prehab2Rehab Scotland’s work aligns closely with national health priorities and evidence-based approaches to improving cancer outcomes in Scotland.
The Scottish Government’s Cancer Strategy 2023–2033 highlights the importance of prehabilitation, prevention and early intervention in supporting people to be physically and psychologically prepared for treatment and recovery.

“Prehab2Rehab can turn a crisis into something positive”
“There is a need that the NHS just can’t fulfil.
“This programme of prehabilitation and rehabilitation doesn’t require health care professionals, just their advice.
“This way, people won’t go through cancer diagnosis and treatment alone. Someone cares and will help them through the stress.
“Nurturing patients through this experience is valuable. It’s also much cheaper than other therapies and treatments like physiotherapy.
